Prevailing Life Ministries ( a. k. a Prevailers’ Arena ) was founded in 2005, October 22nd. Being made obviously clear that there was a clear divine call to begin a ministry work, the pastor ( Peter YAKUBU ) who was pastoring a branch of the then Communion Church, had to submit to pressure to go and start the Prevailing Life Ministries. The church was situated at a location in Ikeja on a street thought to be a dead zone. The presence of the church on that street opened up the whole area for good till today.
Prevailing Life Ministries is primarily a deliverance ministry with a call to the total man. The ministry has witnessed so much of Gods divine visitation and the testimonies abound to Gods glory. After being on that street long enough for about 10 years, there was a leading of God for the church to begin to look at owning their property which kick started the search for our own land. This was realized in the same year 2015 when God directed us to a parcel of land along the expressway where we are now and God helped us to build Him a Sanctuary where we presently serve Him.Finding this parcel of land and building the structure on it is a clear manifestation of the grace and act of God for which no man can ever take credit or glory.
Special thanks to all those who yielded to Gods prompting to make the building happen from the person who led us to find the land to those who provided for the building and those who worked and played engineering roles. Special thanks to the architect who ( brother Taiwo Kolade, Rivers Of Joy Parish, RCCG) and the building Committee chairman ( brother Bisola Olaolu Somorin ), Chief Mrs Olabisi Akindele ( she is a mummy indeed whose contributions are immense. She gave the initial push to go ahead and start work, sank the first bore hole, provided the block making machine, offered advises too numerous to mention.), sister Opeoluwa Okosun, Engr MK Osikoya and many more.
Fondly called PPY. He was born on the 29th of January 1969 to the family of Mr & Mrs Yakubu Uluebeka . He is the first born of his parents. He started his early education at Tsugugi L.E.A primary school, Sabon Gari, Zaria where he came out with outstanding performance. He then proceeded to the government secondary school (G.S.S) Ikara, Kaduna State as one of the pioneer students, After two years he relocated to Alhudahuda College, Zaria city where he completed his secondary education and later School Of Basic Studies, A B U Zaria for his advanced levels.
The young Yakubu wanted to study aviation to become a pilot but was discouraged by his mother with the argument that pilots don't make good homes because they spend most of their times in the air. That did not deter him from his desire for a peopled based occupation. He opted for medical sciences, but faith put a hard one on the young Yakubu with the sudden demise of his father and the attendant effects. All notwithstanding, he did not resign to fate. He moved down to the next level and secured admission into the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife where he finally graduated in 1995. While at ife, he came in contact with campus fellowships which marked a monumental turn around that has today sharpened his great destiny. Though he got born-again before entering the university. He was involved in campus evangelism at that time.
Mention must be made of two of his friends – Evangelist Gboyega Shitta Of Kingdom Power Ministries, International and Pastor Emmanuel Ogbechie Of Diplomats Assembly International together with whom they terrorized the campus for the kingdom of God. PPY who got born-again at the age 19 before going into the campus, quickly returned from Umuahia, Abia State where he did his National Youth Service Corp (N.Y,S,C) to join the pastorial team of the communion church where he served as a parish pastor for a while.
He was ordained a pastor in 1998 and he has been in full time ministry ever since. Pastor Yakubu is a strong believer in the potency of God's word. One of the books he authored – God'S Kind Of Faith attest to this fact, PPY is a lover of men. He will always say “don't give up on anyone if God has not given up on them.” He always want people around him. As a Pastor in the Ikeja Parish of the church then, he had more than twenty brethren including males and females staying with him in a two bedroom apartment that served as both office and residence. Today, like the discontented men of King David, these brethren are virtually married and doing well in their various fields of endeavours.
Pastor Peter Yakubu, the senior pastor of The Prevailing Life Ministries (PREVAILERS' ARENA) is a good family man and a role model to many. He got married to Pastor (Mrs.) Abimbola Yakubu on the 16th of June 2001 and the marriage is blessed with three wonderful children – Amanda, Jesusa, Davis.

Abimbola Patricia Oluwakemi Falodun which means born to be wealthy
. Abimbola hails from Ise/Emure local government in Ise Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. She is the third child and first daughter of the family. Abimbola having the good fortune of being born into a Christian home was also blessed to have been raised by godly examples Abimbola attended St. Louis Nursery and Primary school in Akure, Ondo state, and ended her primary education in the year 1983. She however couldn't continue her education in Akure, Ondo state because her father retired from civil service. The family relocated to Ado Ekiti and there Abimbola commenced her secondary school education. She attended Christ Girls School, Ado Ekiti from 1983-1988. While in school, she joined the school choir and excelled in sports; volleyball to be precise and she earned a spot in the school team and she went on to represent the state in sports. Abimbola completed her secondary school education and gained admission into the then Ondo State University, now Ekiti State University, where she studied and earned B.E.D in Sociology. At the university, she was a member of Scriptures Union. On graduation, she was posted to Adamawa for the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), she oblige but later redeployed to Lagos State.
Abimbola later worked as an Admin Officer and Executive Office Manager in one of the Federal Government parastatals in Lagos from the year 2006-2013 and from 2013 till date, she works at Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund. She is married to Pastor Peter Yakubu for over 22 years to God's glory and the marriage is blessed to three wonderful children; Amanda, Jesusa and Davis. Her experiences fuelled her passion to see women overcome life issues and that lead to the birth of Daughters Of Destiny; a fellowship for single and married, there they discuss how to overcome life's issues and to also pray. Abimbola might serve independently with her brainchild: Daughters Of Destiny but she believe in her husband ministry. And she gives him maximum support.
Maduka Nkemka
Mr Pius Maduka Nkemka is an Accountancy graduate as well as an MBA (Banking & Finance) holder from Enugu State University of Science & Technology. He is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Associate of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (ACIS) with over 25 years capital market experience. Pius Nkemka attended the Prevailers Academy School of Discipleship. He is a member of Teachers Band and past President of Men Fellowship. He has served as Chairman FOT Committee. Mr Pius Nkemka is happily married with Children.
Appolus Amaechi
Appolus Sunday Amaechi, met with the Lord June 26/6/1999. He went through Prevalers Academy School of Disciples, He currently heads the prayer band. He is married to Sister Salome Amaechi and they are blessed with three children.
Harrison Isong
Adams Harrison Isong is a graduate of Accountancy from Federal polytechnic ilaro & possess MBA financial management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa university Bauchi. He has varied practical knowledge in Treasury & Financial management. He encountered with the Lord Jesus over thirty eight years ago just like yesterday. He is the admin/residence Pastor of Prevailing life ministry and happily married to a wonderful & most beautiful woman Margrate Morienyin-oghanranmi Esther.
Magaret Morieyin
Magaret Morieyin-Oghanranmi Isong is a graduate of Management and Marketing from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Bauchi State .- Attended Prevailers Academy School of Discipleship - Member of Children Church- Member of Evangelism/Welfare Department- Member of Sanctuary Department. She is working with Ruby Unique Natural Premium Products Ltd. She is happily married to Mr Adams Harrison Enobong Isong.
Stella Johnson
Stella Idowu Johnson graduated with a (B.S.C) Estate Management from Obafemi Awolowo University, le-Ifie, Osun State in 1997. She also has an MBA (Executive) degree From Obafemi Awolowo University. She has years of experience as an Estate Surveyor and also in the telecommunications industry. Stella surrendered her life to Jesus as a student at the University and has been a committed servant of the Lord ever since. She is currently the Head of Department of Ushering and Treasurer.
Julius Onofua
Julius Iyere Onofua Is A Graduate of Banking & Finance from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State. Julius lyere Onofua attended Prevailers Academy School of Discipleship. Julius lyere Onofua is a lover of God and the gospel. Julius is a member of Sunday School Teachers Band. Julius lyere Onofua Is happily married & they are blessed with Children.
Anthonia Jibril
Pastor Anthonia Ajifa Jibril was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Amos Yusuf Opaluwa, went through several educational skills, she enlisted into the Nigerian Air force in 1996 and she is happily married to Mr Usman Jibril. The marriage is blessed with 4 lovely children. Ajifa is the immediate past President of the prevailing women and also the protocol leader.
Peter Oamen
Peter Smith Oamen, met with the Lord June2 1999.Attended Prevailers academy school of discipleship. He is a lover of God and music, who gets emotionally broken whenever he experiences sincere praise and worship. He is a member of the Prevailing voices and currently the youth Pastor of the prevailing Blazing youths aflame. He is happily married to Dinah Smith Oamen and they are blessed with three children; Jason, Prevail and Jesusa.
James Okonkwo
Chukwudi James Okonkwo is a graduate of the law Faculty of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, Anambra State Nigeria. He successfully attended the Nigeria Law School Victoria Island Lagos, and in March 1995 called to the Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme court of Nigeria. Chukwudi encountered the Lord on August 10, 1999 in Communion Church, Festac Town Lagos and had since embarked on working out his salvation. He is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Centre, founded by God's general Kenneth E.Hagin. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Prevailing Life Ministries as well as the Ministry's General Secretary. He has severally worked as a legal practitioner and a banker, Chukwudi is very happily married to Chinelo Chuks-Okonkwo and the union is blessed with lovely Godly children Princess Oliva and Jezreel Jayden Chuks-Okonkwo.
Lanre Gabriel
Lanre Gabriel hold a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from the Obafemi Awolowo University, lle-Ife; where he encountered the Lord in 1992. He had served as head of the Choir both on campus and in the Music and Media Ministry of the Prevailing Life Ministries. He is an Alumnus of the Nigeria chapter of the Haggai Institute International. He has worked as media consultant and Intra-preneur with various agencies as Creative Director and currently with Brand Revelation GSL. He is a member of the teachers band ; who is passionate about helping people discover and maximize their God-given potentials. He is happily married to Adediwura and they are bless with Inioluwa, Ireoluwa and Ifeoluwa.
